Who We Are
-
Flight training should be structured, intentional, and built around real-world flying, not just checking boxes.
At Novice to Natural, training is designed to give you clarity at every step. You’ll understand not just what to do, but why it matters and how it applies outside the training environment. Each lesson builds on the last, so you’re not left piecing things together on your own.
The goal isn’t just passing a checkride — it’s becoming a pilot who can think, adapt, and operate with confidence in real situations.

We train beyond the textbook so you’re prepared for actual flying, not just test standards.RESPECT FOR YOUR TIME AND INVESTMENT
Flight training is a commitment. We make sure your time, energy, and money are used intentionally from day one. -
Every aspiring pilot starts with a dream, but too often, their training feels disconnected, rushed, or one-size-fits-all. Many students feel overwhelmed, unprepared for emergencies, and unsure of their path. They don’t just need more hours in the air — they need meaning, guidance, and a reason to believe they belong in the cockpit.
Nathan Hawkins knows that firsthand. With over 15 years of both military and civilian aviation experience — and a path from aircraft mechanic to flight instructor — he’s seen where traditional training falls short. That’s why Nathan built something different.
Novice to Natural is aviation training reimagined: thoughtful, mission-driven, and built around each student’s goals. Nathan blends military technique with meaningful training, focusing not just on what to do, but why it matters. Through personalized instruction and advanced emergency preparation, students gain more than skill — they gain the mindset to fly with confidence and clarity.
The results speak for themselves. Students leave not just certified pilots, but empowered. They think independently, handle pressure calmly, and fly with a sense of purpose that sets them apart.
At Novice to Natural, we don’t just train pilots. We help people become the kind of aviators others trust — skilled, steady, and ready for whatever’s ahead.
